JobHawk in ChatGPT, Claude, and Codex
You can add JobHawk as an app in ChatGPT and Codex, or as a connector in Claude. The app lets the assistant save a job to your JobHawk account, list your applications, change an application's status, add a note, and show what's coming up.
What the app receives
We never receive your conversation. When the assistant uses a JobHawk tool, it sends us only the fields that tool needs, filled in from what you asked for. To save a job, that is the job title, company name, and, when they're available, the posting's link, location, salary range, employment type, the posting text, a starting status, and your own note. To update or find an application, it sends the application's ID or the company and job title, plus the new status or note.
Posting text is limited to 20,000 characters. Anything longer is cut off, and we mark where it was cut.
Saving before you connect
If you ask to save a job before connecting your JobHawk account, we show a preview of the job and store nothing. The job is saved only after you connect your account and the assistant sends it again.
How your account is connected
Connecting uses your JobHawk sign-in, run by our sign-in provider WorkOS. You sign in or create an account on a JobHawk page, not inside the assistant. The assistant then holds an access token that lets it act on your JobHawk account. We check that token on every request and don't store it. When you connect for the first time, we read your name, email address, and profile picture from WorkOS to find or create your JobHawk account.
What we store
A job saved through an assistant is stored in your JobHawk account like any other application, together with a record of which assistant it came from (ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, or other). If you create your JobHawk account through an assistant, we record which one. We use these records to understand how people find and use JobHawk.
To stop abuse, we count requests per network address and per account for a short time. Those counts expire within minutes to hours, depending on the limit. If a tool fails unexpectedly, we send an error report to our error-monitoring provider, Sentry, without your name or email address.
Your conversation stays with your assistant provider
Your chats are handled by OpenAI or Anthropic under their own privacy policies, not this one. The job details the assistant shows you come from what it sends us and what we send back.
Disconnecting and deleting
You can disconnect JobHawk at any time in your assistant's app or connector settings. That stops the assistant from reaching your account. It doesn't delete anything you already saved. Those jobs stay in your JobHawk account until you delete them there.
To delete your JobHawk account and its data, email support@jobhawk.app from the address on your account. We delete it within 30 days, except where we have to keep something to comply with the law or to prevent fraud.
How we measure what works
Our website uses Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel, and the LinkedIn Insight Tag. They use cookies and similar technology to record which pages you visit and which links you click, so we can tell which marketing brings people to JobHawk. Links from the assistant apps to our website carry tags that name the assistant they came from. We also use Plausible, a cookieless analytics tool, to count page visits and where they came from. It does not set cookies or identify individual visitors.
When someone creates an account, we send a sign-up event to Google Analytics and LinkedIn that says where the account came from, such as the website, ChatGPT, or Claude. LinkedIn receives a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address so it can match the sign-up to an ad you may have clicked. We also keep daily totals of how the assistant apps are used, such as how many previews were shown. Those totals don't identify anyone.
You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or with Google's opt-out add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Who processes your data for us
We use these providers to run JobHawk: WorkOS (sign-in), Railway (hosting and databases), Sentry (error monitoring), Stripe (payments), Google Analytics, Meta, and LinkedIn (measurement), Resend (email), and OpenAI (the AI features inside JobHawk). The assistant apps themselves run no AI on our side: the assistant does that work before it calls us.
How long we keep it
We keep your applications and notes while your account exists. When you delete an application, we hide it right away and keep it until your account is deleted. Server logs and error reports are kept for our hosting and monitoring providers' standard retention periods. Daily usage totals are kept indefinitely because they contain no personal data.
